Five-cylinder warble, uncorked.

The 2.5 TFSI fires 1-2-4-5-3, and that odd interval is the whole reason an inline-five sounds like nothing else on the road. The factory system spends most of its effort hiding it.

Engineering

A front section and centre resonator feed a valve-controlled rear silencer on twin burnt titanium tips. Closed, the valve keeps the car civil at part throttle. Open, the firing order does the talking.
