Two and a half tonnes of SUV built around a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, wrapped in a factory system tuned to keep four people comfortable at motorway speed. The Urus has never sounded like the V10 and V12 cars it shares a showroom with. This is the shortest route to fixing that.

Engineering

Catted downpipes run into a single centre silencer and quad rectangular tips, the whole system left in burnt titanium rather than polished. One central silencer keeps the path short on a long car, which is what stops the note going flat before it reaches the bumper.
