The 992 Turbo S makes 640 horsepower and 590 lb-ft from a 3.7-litre twin-turbo flat-six and reaches 60 mph in the mid twos. Almost none of that effort reaches you as sound.

Engineering

Manifolds and catted sections feed an X-pipe, a heat-wrapped centre resonator and shielded rear pipes on twin tips. On a heavily turbocharged engine the resonator is doing tuning work, not just volume work: it is what keeps the note clean rather than droning at cruise.
