Sixteen cylinders, four turbochargers.

An 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 making around 1,500 PS, in the Chiron that Bugatti built 50 kilogrammes lighter and aimed at corners rather than top speed. The factory already 3D prints this car's titanium tailpipe trim with walls under half a millimetre, which sets the bar for anything replacing it.

Engineering

Looped equal-path pipework feeding four centre outlets with a further pair outboard, in polished stainless. Sixteen cylinders behind four turbochargers leave very little space at the back of the car, so the routing is as much a packaging problem as an acoustic one.
