Flat-plane V8, Sports Series.

McLaren's M838TE is a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 on a flat-plane crankshaft with dry sump lubrication, 533 bhp in the 540C and 562 in the 570S and 570GT. The flat-plane crank is what gives it the hard metallic edge the standard system files off.

Engineering

Catted downpipes feed twin compact silencers and a rear X-section on twin tips. Fits 540C, 570S and 570GT.
