Twin-turbo V8, X-piped.

Audi's 4.0 TFSI has 600 PS and 800 Nm holding flat from 2,050 rpm, which is all the substance you could ask for. What it does not leave the factory with is a voice in proportion to it.

Engineering

Catted downpipes merge into a true X-pipe, then split to twin heat-shielded rear silencers and quad tips. The X balances the two banks before the silencers rather than after, which is what stops a cross-plane V8 sounding lopsided under load.
